New From Texas

Hi everyone.  I was first introduced to Lego in the early 70s as a young child.  I remember having some great sets, including most of the original Space stuff.  Unfortunately, I stopped collecting/playing with Lego when I hit 13 or so.  My mom sold all my stuff when I left for college.  That was my dark period with no Lego and no interest.

I started collecting again in college in the early 90s.  It was the Western theme that drew me back in.  It's been a bit up a down since, with a prolonged grey period when I was married.  It wasn't so much a lack of interest than a lack of funds/time.  Four kids will do that to you.  My ex wanted out in 2011 and I threw myself back into my collection.  Thank God I had it!  I found peace and satisfaction through Lego that I was sorely lacking in my life at the time.  I'm in a much better place now and have fully embraced my love for Lego.

My main focus these days is City/Town.  I'll buy other themes if I see a way to make them work in my city.  The only bad thing is that I live in an apartment and just don't have a lot of room.  Most of my collection sits in boxes.  One day I will have enough space to put my vision together.  Til then, I'm building modular landscapes and buying used parts to make older sets that aren't available anymore.
