Fake Technic from Hammacher Schlemmer
On the previous month's catalog cover I saw thishttps://www.hammacher.com/Product/91334?sku=91334&promo=search&query=pw-91334
and immediately thought, oh no, they're touting fake LEGO. Upon inspection it appears to resemble a Boost, but different enough that it's not a blatent ripoff. Some of the parts are a bit too close for comfort though. It's also reasonably priced.
Then however, in this month's catalog, this appeared.https://www.hammacher.com/Product/90922?sku=90922&promo=search&query=pw-90922
Which definitely seems to rip-off LEGO Technic. While the set appears to be unique, alot of the parts appear to be copies of LEGO. I'm not sure if this is entirely the case, as this may not even be compatable with LEGO. But the price is definately way lower than an equivalent LEGO set with similar features, which is unusual for Hammacher Schlemmer as they are usually hideously expensive. The age rating also seems a bit low, 6+ for a powered Technic (fake Technic) set?
Closer inspection is required to know how close to LEGO it is as they have to be avoiding infringement somehow, but it's only $60 so someone could bite the bullet and get it. (unless you puke at the sight of fake LEGO)
