I'm getting ready to lay my monorail line through my city and was wondering about spacing for the support pylons. The underside of the long straight track piece has an anti-stud connection square area in the center, and a 1x2 area on each end so that when you mate it with another piece of track the joint forms a 2x2 area to sit atop a pylon. My question is, for those of you that have monorail track layouts, can you get away with only having the support pylons at the end of each long track section where two tracks meet and forgo the one in the middle of the long piece? I'm hoping to be able to avoid needing a support pylon every 16 studs.
