Does the magnifying glass the little girl holds in the Town Hall give a clue about what the next modular building is? Kinda odd how a girl would be holding a magnifying glass in a town hall. I forget where I read this but every modular has a slight 'clue' to the next one. CC- Spilled grapes ---> GG- Fire Hydrant ---> FB- ?? ---> GE- Wedding Mannequin ---> [TH (but delayed)] PS- ??.... I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
I mean no offense by this, but this seems like quite a stretch... and even by the example you provided, there doesn't seem to be any real pattern here.
No worries. I don't think my wording/grammar was the best on that post.

^^^ I see what you mean, the girl with the magnifying glass is a bit baffling to me too, not sure what type of building that would fit into! Maybe the little boy with his ice lolly means we'll get an ice cream parlour? now that would be cool....boom, boom!

    ^ Maybe a museum?
  • legirllegirl Member Posts: 105
    ^ oh yeah!

    natural history with dinosaurs! :D
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP CanadaMember Posts: 1,899
^^ Won't that be kind of cramped on a 32 x 32 baseplate? It would be amazing to see some brick-build fossils and some large dinosaur fossils hanging from the ceiling.
  • legirllegirl Member Posts: 105
^ yes it would but it would be awesome too!

FB - fire dog ---> Pet shop?

I doubt that each modular holds clues to a future one, but it's certainly fun to speculate. Maybe those croissants-like elements above the entryway suggest a bakery...

^ There is also the teller (computer and money) that could suggest a bank and the room opposite that that has a marble column and a bust which is very museum like.

Post offices were routinely placed on corners so I'd wager more on that if there were anything to the belief that the next modular has to be a corner building.
That and a Post office is the only LEGO theme that has not been done for a long time, then again it is not like post offices are very exciting, but then again neither is a TH( unless getting struck by lightning) Id rather see this, a cinema, bowling alley,a hardware store, or bank than Police station..
I will say if the next building is a corner building then most of the above are probably nixed, I see a theater, and Police station as 'regular' buildings, and maybe a hardware store as a possibility. Maybe a bank but I see a bank as a non-corner store as well.
    Now maybe a restaurant/night club??

With so many endless possibilities, it would be nice to see new modulars more than once a year.

Pretty sure that was a courthouse... but I do kind of want this set to put out front of TH until they make a full-on courthouse.

I beleive the next modular building coming out is the Haunted House that was showed at the begining of the Town Hall video. I just got back from the Lego store and the employee there told me that Haunted House and R2D2 are coming at the end of the year. Haunted House does not fit in the theme but who know.
  • effalconeffalcon Member Posts: 71
Haunted House is part of the Monster Hunters theme isnt it?
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 2,002
^I thought it was just an awesome model not connected to any particular theme. The 'leaked' video looks like the house has at least three 'finished' sides, so I can't imagine it being part of the modular theme.
  • htranhtran Member Posts: 38
Same size with the modular building

there's been a lot of guessing about where HH "fits" in theme-wise. In order of likelihood, I would say:

    1) Monster Hunters (along the lines of DA for HP, MMV for Castle, and Joust for Kingdoms)
    2) Stand-alone, no theme (like large scale models)
    3) Modular line.

Two things are clear to me from the grainy pictures - it is not meant to attach to other building, which rules out being part of the modular lineup. That said, I'm certain it has many similar features to the modular series - removable floors, full walls, full interiors, etc. Since neither the modular series or the stand alone items are actually labelled as being part of any theme, it will be either labelled as Monster Hunters, or labeled as nothing. If it's nothing, then some people might call it a standalone, and some people might call it part of the modular line, even if it doesn't attach. At that point, it's really immaterial, and is only perception.

I'd like to see a library. I think the interior could be lots of fun. But I suspect the traditional library facade is too similar to TH.

@madforlegos - Town Hall not exciting?!?!?....I am about to put a 'Batman' on the roof to call the caped crusader!! Part of my display for the show. ;))

^ Cool! For The Lego Show? I look forward to seeing it and meeting you if so.
  • stagusstagus Member Posts: 245
^ yup for the show. Still tons to do! :-/ I have taken over the dining room to see what it looks like before transporting it down to Manchester!

@y2josh do you know where instructions for the Delorean can be found??
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Love the idea of a library. My gut is that we will be seeing a post office or police station sooner rather than later. Also: that haunted house that was leaked in the video a couple weeks back looked not exactly like a modular, but not too far off!
  • bellybutton290bellybutton290 Member Posts: 453
I'll go for a cinema or theatre as something I would like to see. I certainly see these as likely modulars at some stage.

I don't buy the theory of it being a clue, but if I did I would say a police station (magnifying glass being used by the detective).

Re girl with magnifying glass - maybe she is just being mean and frying ants?

@BrickDancer - As far as I know, there are no instructions for the Delorean. I've also seen an excellent LEGO Ecto-1, which would certainly prompt me to mod the Fire Brigade if I could figure out how to build one myself.

I'd it wouldn't be another civic building (post office, police station, library, museum) as nice as they might be, they seem a bit sedate to follow the fairly downbeat town hall.

Something like a cinema or theatre, or ice cream parlour or burger joint seem like fun suggestions to me. Opportunity for a bit more 'action'.
  • BrickSpyBrickSpy Member Posts: 24
A cinema would be awesome, but an opera house would be even MORE awesome! How fun would it be to have a stage with trap doors and box seats for the audience... Actually you could combine everything into one, cinema, theater, opera house... :-)

If we're going by speculation, based on the magnifying glass, then I would say a Police Station. Museum would be my 2nd pick.

I'd be thinking along the lines of a building that was prominent on a block during the 1930s. That seems to be the theme TLG has been sticking with. Maybe a bank?

Could be a bank. Throw in some criminals, and maybe the "magnifying glass" is for the detectives. Ya, definitely reading into the speculation a bit more.

Regardless, a bank would be nice.

The fire house could be modded to a traditional police station if the garage door was replaced with a big front entrance. Like the police precinct from NYPD Blue.
  • RobbRobb Member Posts: 144
A TV or radio station would also be fun.

I'm surprised nobody has asked for a Lego Store yet.
Except someone already did earlier in this thread:
I'd like to see a Lego store and a town house - similar to the PS idea.

None of the Modulars have stickers - does that rule out doing a cinema, which would require movie poster stickers, or would they print new pieces like the clock on TH?

It has to be out of print. If they decide to have movie posters at all.

How about a mundane item (but one essential for any city) - a supermarket? They could make it fancier than a bland effort (such as the Tesco 'barns' in the UK, or that have a distinct 'look', such as Stop & Shop or Big Y in New England).

I don't think they would do a supermarket cuz they have the Green Grocer :-/
